At Mobius we want to ensure that every element of our printing process is as ecologically sounded as possible. Printing technology has changed a lot since the days when “green” printing meant more expensive, and inferior quality. Today people can make the switch to environmentally friendly printing without seeing any difference in price or end product.

Why the FSC Logo?

40% of the world’s industrial logging goes into making paper. Many paper sources claim they are truly sustainable, and often this can come with a lot of high-level backing, however the only way to guarantee the highest levels of sustainability is to look for the FSC label.

The FSC logo (Forest Stewardship Council) is the only stamp recognised by environmental groups such as Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and The Ecologist as the true indication of sustainable sourcing of paper.

What does the FSC label promote?

Environmentally appropriate forest management ensures that the harvest of timber and non-timber products maintains the forest’s biodiversity, productivity and ecological processes.

Socially beneficial forest management helps both local people and society at large to enjoy long term benefits and also provides strong incentives to local people to sustain the forest resources and adhere to long-term management plans.

Economically viable forest management means that forest operations are structured and managed so as to be sufficiently profitable, without generating financial profit at the expense of the forest resources, the ecosystem or affected communities.

The tension between the need to generate adequate financial returns and the principles of responsible forest operations can be reduced through efforts to market forest products for their best value.
